Global Books
Global Books in Print is a bit of a misnomer as it includes Out of Print items, Videos, and, audiobooks as well as books of course.The exercise for this DB was OK.
The first question asked for a forthcoming title by a favorite author. I chose Ken Follett (not becuse he is a fav. but because I could spell his name and he writes a lot!)Whiteout will be published Oct.2008. I used Quicksearch Format Book Forthcoming and All Markets. The synopsis was spretty predictable - Adreniline pumping thriller. A Christmas eve blizzard, an isolated house and unexpected heroes all revolving around a missing cannister of a deadly virus.
Time Travellers wife (Q2) Quick Search under Niffenegger, Audrey I found it was published in Australia in 2004 in Paperback. It is readily Available. Price $23.95.
Q3 Training videos I used Advanced Search here. Key word in title: Training Format: Video and Country of Publication: Australia. The results gave me Videos and DVD's and a CD ROM.
The Phil Gee Camel Handling and Training Method. PAL 2004 ISBN 9780646432038
Electrical and Solar Technology. VHS 2003 ISBN 9780646423753
Q4 List Winners of the Shamus Award for True Crime. I looked up the Shamus Award and found it is given annually by the Private Eye Writers of America to honour excellent work in the Private Eye genre. It said 2008 would be announced 10/10/08 - various categories including Best PI Hardcover (including Headgames and, The colour of blood) Best First PI Novel (including The Cleaner and, Keep it Real)
I used an open search on Shamus using Bowkers Award Database (400 Awards from 10 countries)

I would have liked to search other sources for this information but just ran out of time (isn't that always a problem)
